This is in response to repeated requests by Steve to "do something" with our mother's recipes. I haven't really looked at them yet, but my intention now is to copy them word for word without much if any editorial comment. At most (if I keep my pledge) I'll fill you in on the process. Pecan Pie, for example, was the second index card in the file, after Pauline's Tuna Casserole. I bumped the casserole because I'm very partial to pecan pie. Caps, indentions, spacing, spelling, etc. is all as close as I can get it to how she wrote it on the card. Comments are welcome, of course, even from in-laws and strangers.
Pecan Pie
Bake pie shell
Cream
3/4 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
1/3 cup Butter
Beat 3 eggs one at a time
and add to cream mixture
Stir in: 1 cup light syrup
1 cup broken pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
Bake 375
