Mom's Recipes 16

Not only do I not remember ever eating this, I don't even remember anyone at home talking about it. It was assumed in our house that kids didn't like buttermilk. In fact, grandparents really were about the only people who drank it. My dad would occasionally indulge in the practice of crumbling up cornbread in a water or iced tea glass and adding sugar and milk, but he always used "sweet" milk, and he didn't do it very often because Mother frowned on it. My grandfather, Mother's father, the purest East Texas eater I ever knew, used buttermilk.

There's no clue as to where this came from. It's on vaguely avocado colored paper from a small "Things to do" pad. I've written it out exactly as found.

(2 Cup Sugar)
(3 Table Spoons Four (sic))
(Stir together)

3 Eggs
1 cup Buttermilk
1 stick melted Oleo.
1 teaspoon Extract

(Buttermilk Pie)

I gather you mix all these ingredients and pour them into a pie shell and bake for some amount of time at some temperature!
